To all bladesmiths
APPLYING BLADESMITHING TO LIFE.
How to deal the people around you? Different people are like different pieces of steel. No two are exactly the same. There is good steel, not so good steel and crapy steel. Good steel is a pleasure to work with, and it lends itself to the bladesmithing process. Crapy steel, on the other hand, scales up, pits out, warps, bends, cracks and breaks. However, even with a crapy piece of steel, if you work it tenderly, with lower heats and lighter blows, although it may never be a great blade, it might turn out decent. You never know until you hammer on it, and see if you can get it to the point where you can put an edge on it,? and test it out. |

Even the truest blade can be like a fickle woman. Unless you lavish attention upon her by caressing her, rubbing her with oil, and exercising her regularly by practicing the various strokes, her favors will be withheld... or even go to another.

A blade that is not straight does not cut true; the same can be said of a man.
A twisted blade will turn in use; the same can be said... __________________ http://www.angelsword.com/ http://www.angelswords.com/ http://www.swordarts.com/ http://www.metalscience.com |
