Might want to give Robert Hensarling a shout, it's right up his alley.

Ok Guys,
This is probably a silly question, but Home Depot sells Mesquite for charcole. Some of the wood (sort of block like) are pretty solid peices of wood. It also seems to be naturally stabablized, so do you guys who use me3squite think this could be used for knife handles?

Thanks,
Dave

Humm...By "Naturally stabilized", do you mean dry? I've had some stabilized at K&G's last year, and it took it fine. Did cost a bundle to sent it to Arizona, and back, but that's ok.
You might check with the supplier of these chunks, and ask him to save you a good sized limb to work on. Right now, the large larve are hatching into the Longhorn beetle, so you might have to contend with scary looking little beasties flying around the shop looking for a way out.
(Shameless plug) I'll be selling mesquite shortly, but I'm not set up quite yet.

Yes, dry with very few cracks. Tough as nails, too. I'll be on the lookout when you start selling.

Thanks,
Dave
