Is this one legit? Model 14

This is from a closed Ebay offering that sold.
The Stamp seem inconsistent with an unlined thong hole but I'm no expert. If you look at the 'time line' shouldn't the 'S' be separate?

I watched it, good looking package and something of a bargain in my opinion. It looks good to me, just circa 1970-72 or so. Riveted sheaths until about 1972
Same with unlined thong hole. integral "s" blade stamp about 1969.

Thanks - obviously I missed something on the integral S time line. That's what looked 'bad' to me.

I agree with Mike: It looks like an integrated S. Also, the seller didn't give us a good pic of the thong hole. From what I can see, it may have been drilled out. Waiting for Bill's further input.

I wouldn't be so worried about the blade stamp as there were a lot of knives made after that integrated "S" stamp was introduced and before the demise of the rivet sheath and unlined thong hole. However, after looking closely at the pictures, I can see why Ron is concerned about the thong hole. Blown up, it does look a little peculiar... hope it is legit.

I will note that the guard is shaped like the most common 1970 to 1972, in that the shape has not transitioned to tapered oval, but not as squared as the earlier ones. This is not an absolute marker, just a trend indication.

The sheath and knife are comparable in that both seem to be virtually unused.

Nothing quite like anticipating a knife coming in, and having all expectations satisfied!
Nice get Bill.
