homemade metal band saw my way

From the idea found on this forum I have made my own metal band saw.

The saw was found on sale, so total price is around 100 $.

Thanks for the idea.

Nice job! Those portable bandsaws are just cutting little machines! I've cut more stuff, and gone through less blades than I could have ever done with a 4X12 saw.

Amen to that! Plus they travel well. I've got three. Just make sue you get the ones with metal gears and wheels. The plastics won't last long (some HF's have plastic wheels and the gearing is cast into the hub of the wheel).

Question OK,, so now!!!

Hey this was a great idea!! Now,, are thin " bi-directional" wood cutting blades available in this size!! I could just imagine making one of these saws and using it as a "jig" saw for cutting out small wooden parts, slab handles, inlays ect. It's the perfect size!!! ---Jon
