Higonokami Necker
Here's this higonokami necklace/knife I just finished. I haven't posted anything for a while, hope you like it.
Knife OAL closed (including looped chikiri)- 3 inches
Knife OAL open- 4.25 inches
Blade- 1095 steel
Handle- Mild steel
Chain- Mild steel

Thanks for asking.
Not an exact replica and/or for production, but if you want to do your own interpretation of this design and steal some of my ideas,... go for it!

Thanks very much , Tai . my own interpretation is all I'm capable of (if that!). your work inspires me to reach exceeding my grasp. If I don't completely flub it, I'll post the results.

I'll post some pix of my basic process on another thread. The only real difference will be in the chikiri (thumb lever), which is a rat's tail in this one instead of the typical flat.

I need to make something like your necklace folder Tai. I have many hand sheetmetal tools and could easily heat treat the blade with a torch. I might make a few folders similar to yours. Think I'll use brass for the handle though and a braided leather necklace. Possibly made out of four colors?
