Next weeks job

Well having all the blades sent to heattreat leaves me some time to do something else...I did this design over the weekend....need to fix up the curves abit and the handle will probably be full titanium instead of bolster/scales. I plan on making it with double Ti liners in .05" and handle in .1" Ti

On the first the blade will be RWL-34 but this design also leans to Damasteel and mammoth

Nice shape-

Will you post the sketch and the finished piece together?

It would be cool to see the process...

Sketching is something I always mean to attend more to... it is easy to think you should be doing 'more productive,' things... but really, design work is key. I almost always only have such sketches when working on commissions... O.K., open sketching during coffee tomorrow!

Does anyone else out there have sketch-to-finished work?

It might be a real nice thread to start.

Thanks for the inspiration, Jens.

Well I made these parts yesterday. Cut the liners (.05")and handlescales (.075"), drilled, reamed and tapped for screws, stoppin and pivot. I am using 3/16" stoppin with 2 srews and 3/16" pivot with one screw. The blade is profiled and drilled and reamed for the pivot. Lock is not cut yet.

so far it goes as planned.

Here the result of last night..I have fitted the stoppin in both open and closed. Also made the backspacer. Found that some of the Damasteel I have had the EXACT measure I needed....! COOL
