cool old knife

this halloween my brother had a scary looking fella on his porch with a knife sticking out of his chest. i didnt pay any attention to it untill yesterday when he gave it to me . he said if its worth fixxen up i can have it or just throw it away. well i about fell over when i read the makers mark. its a Randall. it says Randall made .orlando fla on it. with a sword looking thing on both sides. it has a long slim blade with some cool grinds and a brass guard. it has a leather washer handle with a puttor or aluminum but cap.its a very cool knife .

i found a picture of one in a book called Battle blades. its on page 114 if anyone has the book. the only differance is my knife is a single guard and the one in the picture is a double. its in bad shape but looks like it can be restored. but not sure if ill touch it.

if anyone can tell me more about this knife ill appreciate it. thanks boo

Ask around over here. Pics or a scan would be nice. I don't think it is real real old. The real old ones were made in Springfield, Ill. Good find and good luck. Keep us posted.

I would contact Randle Knives, they do refinish work, and can tell yo the history of the knife. I have had them do appraisals on 2 Randles I have.

Their addres and contact info is usually in blade magazine.

God Bless

Mike
