Knifemaker ID needed (Pat Fowler ring a bell for anyone?)

I got the following from the Contact Us link at the GCKG website:

Greetings,

I'm hoping to find the origin of a knife given to me by a friend in 1980. He said a friend of his made the knife. My friend was living in Chatsworth, Ga. at that time. If my memory serves me - he said the name of the maker is Pat Fowler - the knife is marked Fowler. It is a 4 inch folding blade with layered lined handles.

Any info about Mr. Fowler would be of interest to me.

Doesn't ring a bell with me Jamie, but if you can get a good picture of the mark I would like to have it for the Knifemakers' Marks collection Charlie and I are accumulating with the CKCA. I wouldn't mind having one of yours and all the rest ot the makers that hang their hats in GA either. Hope to see you next month.

Jamey I checked some of my old knife books and there wasn't a Pat Fowler listed in any of them.

Carl that is a good idea. Do you keep the board or does it stay at Trackrock?

Gentlemen,

If that blade is Marked "LFOWLER" That was my grand father, he did live in Chatsworth Georgia. He passed away in the late 90's. My father and uncles have made knives also.
The L stood for Leslie. I think his last serial numbers were some were in the 1000's.

Here are a couple of L Fowler (Pat) knives he made for me in the mid 70's. I later had the engraving done by a master engraver named Ralph Engle.

Leslie "Pat" Fowler was my grandfather. He lived in Chatsworth, Georgia and made thousands of custom bear jaw, folding, and straight knives in his garage workshop for decades.

He would sell and horse-trade them around and gained a reputation for unique and quality knife-making around Northwest Georgia.

He was also an avid pool player, a hobby picked up in his Coast Guard days. I remember driving him to the senior center to shoot pool when I was a teenager.

His son, my uncle Gary Delton Fowler also made knives.

Both of them were great guys and I miss them.
