2nd folder...comments please

Hi fellas, after making straight kives for a while, I thought I'd try my hand a some simple folding knives. This is a scrap knife made from found materials and only using basic power tools (angle grinder, drill press and 2x72 Grizzly). The blade and backspring are an old worn out jack plane blade, the liners are from a brass door kick plate, and the scales are a piece of rosewood that used to be on display where I work. Any comments are welcome good or bad and thanks for taking the time to look...Bud

Overall:7 1/4"
Closed: 4"
differentially hardened blade

Considering what you had to work with I'd say it was fairly freakin' fantastic! A great example that the desire to make a folder is much more important than having a shop full of tools and a CAD system - all of which may be helpful but aren't really necessary.....

First: Great knife! I love it!

Secondly: What a coincidence!

I just finished my first folder last week and believe it or not, you and I chose the exact same scrap (brass door kick plate and jack plane iron).

Lets hear it for scrap knives!
