Michael Fong- fixed blade

One of those unfinished blanks that I'd put in a beer mug/pen pencil holder and forgotten. Want to say this was ground back in '01 or 02'. Epoxied this up the other night with some scrap buckeye burl.

nice one. Is it sandblastet finish? It looks so matte.

How usefull is a design like this? I can imagine its not that pleasent holding being so narrow in the palm and at the fingers?

Rasmus, he has tape on the blade part. WIP means work in progress.

Intended for light duty tasks. More along the lines of a slim fighter type. A bit big and heavy for a neck knife. Trying to decide on stitching up leather or use Kydex.

That same pattern with obsidian handle scales. Working the obsidian was tough, right up there with agate. I have to find my photo of that knife. The obsidian was orange so the handle was fairly vibrant contrasty.

Found a small version of the photo, kinda hard to see but a bit better color accuracy than the one on the auction site. Date stamp is 5/2001 so that puts it for the Blade Show West. Recall that it sold at the Vegas Classic in '02 or was picked up by a dealer at that show.
