Working on a folding trapper

I recently purchased a medium trapper kit and I'm not sure how to approach it. I've built a number of fixed blades, but this is my first folder. In the kit there was 2 small pieces of tin, what purpose do they fulfill and what is the best way to join all pieces together? Will 1/2 ton epoxy work? Also is anyone aware of any good books or manuals that cover making folding knifes. Thanks for all your help. Jack

the pieces of "tin" are steel shims used when peening the blade pins. there are tutorials here, just click on workshop.the blue search button works well for most inquiries. and the following link has a tutorial on folders.
