Selling overseas?
Has anyone had any experiences selling knives overseas? What do I need to look out for? What procedure should I follow? I have a potential customer in England. Thanks in advance for the help.

Look in the European forum. There's a lot of information there.

Not much to look out for. It's up to the customer to know their own local laws and restrictions. Once you are sure that you have been paid (I use Paypal or an International Money Order) then send the knife. Global Express Mail will deliver the knife most anywhere in the world for $25 or less and usually within a week or two. You will have to fill out a custom form, just be honest but in the description try to make the knife sound as harmess as possible. If your model name is something like Death Dealer 9000 you might want to just call it 'cutlery' on the form.
Some countries have special requirements like 3 copies of your invoice for the product attached to the outside of the container. It's up to the customer to tell you about that sort of thing. I've shipped knives to all kinds of strange places and never really had any trouble........ |
