ID a kabar folder and a custom please?
hey all,
a lady was cleaning out her grandpa's shop and found a kabar folder in the dirt, it WAS a rusted lump Ive managed to bring it back to life and was hoping to be able to tell her when it was made and what its worth is. the handle is jigged horn, the liners are brass, and the logo and bolsters are nickel-silver the second photo is a knife that was part of a barter, ya I know kinda ironic to barter for a knife when your a maker *grins* was just wondering if anyone recognizes the makers mark/style its a fairly small one, about 7 1/2 inches OAL with the blade being about 4, spines fairly thick bolster and pins are stainless and the handle is micarta anyway heres the pics |

The Ka Bar looks like an older Union Cutlery model. It is called an easy opener or easy open jack. It would date from 1923 into the 1950's. I would guess around 1930-1940. Maybe worth $25 to $50 or so if the blades snap open and closed and the other side not shown is in good shape. Can not help with the custom knife.
