Loveless Bolt Issue
Used loveless bolts for the first time and have gaps where the tread breaks in the brass pin (stainless screw in brass bolts). Is this commom? Any ways to correct / avoid this? It looks ok as is but is definitly there. Being it is a screw I do not see how this can be avoided (after thought) other than dying the epoxy or something but the the circle would be distorted....HELP!

Take a small flat ended punch and gently peen the bolt into the brass. Then resand the bolt and most of the time that thraed gap will dissapear. It is better to do this just before you get to final finish. You can still do it now but you will have to refinish the tops of the bolts.

You are correct, it cannot be avoided but it can be blended as Stan said. However, I don't think many people bother with it. If you decide that this is something that really bothers you try using Corby bolts next time. They aren't quite as convenient to use but they present a smooth finish...
