A VERY special frame handle bowie...
This knife means more to me than any other so far. I recently married the love of my life. We had a very nice, small, and quiet ceremony and reception here in Michigan. I made this knife for us to cut our wedding cake with. The handle represents our wedding colors, black and white. I used white g-10 for the handles. I don't know that white g-10 will ever have another application for me as a knifemaker again, but it worked well here. The inlay in the handle form two joined and twisted J's, which are the first initials of our names; John and Jennifer. The 'Twisted' filework on the blade and handle frame is one of my wife's favorite details and I thought it fitting as marriage 'twists' two lives into one.
Here are the specs: Hand forged from 1075 steel, clay quenched and etched Dimensions are from memory, 12 1/2" overall with a 7 1/2" blade, .210" thick at the ricasso Twisted filework on the blade and handle frame Black g-10 fittings with german silver spacers Black g-10 frame White g-10 scales black carbon pin inlay Thanks so much to Coop for the WONDERFUL images! All comments are welcome. __________________ John Doyle You have nothing to fear but fear itself...........and bears. |

Contrats Pal!......but I didn't get any cake! First ya move away, then ya run off and get married, and worst of all, have desert without the "fellas"! LOL!
Sounds like things are going well for ya John.....I couldn't be more pleased! (of course unless you were closer) __________________ WWW.CAFFREYKNIVES.NET Caffreyknives@gmail.com "Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, and all your CONSEQUENCES are a result of your CHOICES." |

Stunning knife! Hopefully you kept it hidden until you cut the cake, you wouldn't want to be accused of trying to divert attention from the bride.

Congrats on your marriage and I really like the knife. Not only did it serve a purpose it has much more meaning to the two of you beyond that!

I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! C Craft |

Ed, you know I would have given you some cake. The knife handled that red velvet cake with ease, I'm happy to report. I wish I was still closer too. I miss you Pal. __________________ John Doyle You have nothing to fear but fear itself...........and bears. |
