button lock question
I just started working on my first button lock kit (first kit actually) a SS 2.0. From the instructions, it looks like the spring for the button should fit inside the recess in the button, but the one that came with my kit is almost the same diameter as the button, and it appears to be too long. The kit goes togeather and works, but if you tighten up the pivot screws properly, the button won't push in far enough to release the blade from the open or closed position.
I belive that trimming the spring a little should fix the second problem, but wanted to make sure that the idea doesn't sound stupid. |

Hi dfarm
You're right! The spring can be trimmed to size to adjust the way you like your push pressure. It is also designed to fit flush to the outside flange of the button. This allows us to use the maximum spring size. Go slow with the spring trimming. It's better to remove too little than too much! __________________ Alex Whetsell [======]~~~~~~~> Atlantavirtual.com Atlanta NOC |
