Do you have dedicated belt for leather?
I am using the same belt to grind steel and sand leather. Some but not all edges looks dirty. I wonder if steel plus glue makes it look this way. I don't have any fresh belt right now to try and see myself. What's interesting is that on the same sheath edge of one side looks dirty while another one looks fine.
Guys, if you use belts dedicated for leather only do you ever have dirty looking edges? Thanks, Alex |

Yes Alex, I use dedicated belts for my leather. A couple of things you can do though if you want is use Oxalic Acid which is sold as Wood Bleach. It is good for cleaning dirty leather prior to finishing.I would also suggest if you want to use the same belts to get a belt eraser, and clean your belts prior to using them for sheaths.I hope this helps.Dave
