Brief story of a young man that saved the life of my nephew Josh and others.

If you go here:
http://www.marine-corps-news.com/200...rs_fa.htm#more
You will read about my nephews best friend Lance Cpl. Cristian Vasquez, 20, of Coalinga, California who save lives in Iraq including my nephew Josh.

My family owes him a lot.

Prayers for his family please.

Josh will be there for a few more months.

Cpl. Vasquez

"No greater love hath a man, than he lay down his life for his friends." Thank you Cpl. Vasquez for your sacrifice. I am truly humbled. Thank you to all you who have served, and do serve. We here at home owe you a debt we can never repay.

Hi, Bob.

Wowzie, you and your family are really into drama, huh?

I'm happy your nephew is alive and that you're up and well again.

How are you doing, my friend?

Don,

Luckily my nephew is now back in Las Cruses and doing well.

Bunch of drama? Always. Want a list of the drama in my life?

15 years old, fell in a mine shaft. Trashed left leg, six breaks in ankle.
20 years old, was a passenger in a car rollover (Military Police car). Screwed up knee left leg.
25 years old, stepped on rock, twisted left ankle and broke it in 5 places and dislocated the joint. Had plate and screws installed.
28 years old, had to have screws and plate removed due to problems.
47 years old, at my mother's funeral I found out my sisters are only half sisters, not sure who I belong to and brothers belong to the guy that raised me.
48 years old, T-Boned by a Suburban (Hit and run) on my motorcycle. We all know how that turned out.
Wife has two bad diseases she has to deal with, both potentially fatal.
Just recently lost my mother-in-law who lived with us for 15 years.
Two nephews went to Iraq and luckily both returned safe.

Did I mention how much my left leg hates me? I have enough scars I look like I lived through an Autopsy.

All that and I am also FAT.

What do you do? Just keep on pluggin, something good will happen eventually. It has to, right?

Amigo, I'm thinking you're a bad person to stand next to in a thunderstorm!

Thank goodness your nephews didn't inherit that!

A company I worked for moved offices and the electrician they hired was nicknamed "Sparky". We found out pretty quickly that it wasn't a term of endearment. He nearly burned down the place a couple times. (Kept confusing the white wire with the black one) So with that in mind, I guess I won't start calling you "Lucky".

Despite the fact that you're kind of a mess, we still love ya, Bob! Keep on paddling 'till the tide turns your way!

So, Bob, I guess you were wearing handcuffs in the back seat of the MP car?

You've been through more physical trauma than anyone I know, but thank God you never lose your sense of humor and you keep on truckin' along.

I know you're thankful for what you have, and wish you and yours a merry Christmas.

Vaya con Dios, mi Amigo.

Bob thanks for the story, Cpl Vasquez should be honored by all, a Marine through and through.

Also, please thank your nephew for us!

Not that kind of passenger. I was training a new kid and he did not understand "Don't pass on the right" and passed a guy that saw the lights in the mirror as we went around him and pulled to the right, sent us down a long hill. Never did make it to that call.

Never been on the inside of handcuffs.

Vasquez is a hero. The line of Marines lined up to honor him show how special he was.
