Design idea

I've had a beautiful piece of 5-bar turkish in the shop for almost a year & have had no designs really grab me for a piece that's 3" x 1/2" x 1/8". Any suggestions for a marketable design for this small piece.

I got to see it first.
I look DEEP inside a billet to see what wants to come off and what wants to stay.
The billet determines what I make out of it.
Can you post a picture of the stuff?
That may help me to help you more.

Gary, with the dimensions you listed, it sounds about the right size for a bowie guard.

Geno,

I'll have to borrow a better camera to show you much. My cheap digital wouldn't show you a thing.

cheap digital

I too have a cheap digital camera. And thought I would not be able to get close enough to see detail in the knives I wanted to take pictures of. I was goofing around one day with one of those large plastic rectangular magnifying glasses people sometimes use for reading. I put the knife against a neutral background. Then got ready to take a picture at about a foot away then put the magnifying glass between the knife and the camera. By looking through the viewfinder I adjusted distances til things looked kind of right and took the picture. Out of about ten pictures six or so came out good.
For what it's worth.

Re: cheap digital

It sounds like a folder of some kind.
That is a tiny billet.

One hand drop point folder!! I can hear it screaming from here!
Vine file work, titanium liners and bolsters with stabilized Lacewood scales. Liner lock if it were me, but Gene would go with a standard lock back.

Thanks everyone. You've given me the motivation to convert a dustcollecter into a blade. When I finish it, I'll post a picture.
