Got a ? about DDRIII weight
I've got a DDRIII w/ the tact blade & straight/slant bolsters and I was wondering what the finished weight will be w/ pocket clip. I know that mine will be different slightly from everyone elses and depends upon handle material but I'm just looking for ballpark not exact.
Thanks, S1N __________________ S1N "A bad doing something you love is better than any day at work." |

I have a one outfitted with carbon fiber scales. It weighs in at 5.2 oz. The steel liners are super strong, but not super light.

I'm working on one now. It seemed pretty heavy to me so I'm replacing the metal bolsters with black G10, partly because I thought it would look good, but also to save a little weight.

Thanks Coop! I'm looking for a knife to carry w/ my CHL & am not quite sure the DDRIII is right for me. I've got small hands w/ short fingers and to get the DDRIII out & the blade deployed requires me to shift my grip & in a hurry I'm afraid I might drop the knife.
Rick - could you post some pic's when your'e done? I've been thinking of doing another DDRIII and using either G10 or micarta scales w/ no bolsters. Eric __________________ S1N "A bad doing something you love is better than any day at work." |

Eric,
Sorry for the long delay; I haven't visited here in a while (obviously). Yes, I'll post pics when I'm done, but you'll have to be patient. I'll be travelling for the next few weeks and won't get the DDR3 done until I get home. Rick |
