Id rather not get involved in an argument but I will post my opinion here.

I recently finished my first liner lock as omega is getting ready to do.

Under advice from several sources, i went with .063 ti.

I was glad I did so.

I was able to make minor adjustments as I was finishing the knife, and even now I can take my knife down and make small adjustments if I so desire.

Ss will be fine just more of a challenge.

Thank you

Use a "Spring hard" grade of stainless steel and you wont have to heat treat it. Ask you steel supplier to suggest an appropriate US grade number. Chances are the first few folders you make will end up in the "lessons learned" corner of the shop anyway! :-)

Id agree with that My first liner lock has a lot of play in the opened position. That was on of the greatest lessons I learned-don't cut the locking liner too short!
Kevin, would you be speaking about 303 and 304-type stainless?

I believe those are the US material numbers for spring hard stainless...

UNless your spring is way too short, make a larger stoppin. You can use shims of writing paper to see how much larger it needs to be. You will have to adjust the blade for the closed position too and may need to give more clearance between blade and stoppin for blade rotation. But hey, that's what al those tools are for!! :-)
