How did you create the pattern was it many bars stacked in a loaf and slices cut off? Or is there another method I can't see?

No, jjh, just one bar with 320 layers of 3 different steels forged together in one welding process. Nothing more, nothing less. Just the billet was a little bigger than usual: 60 inches by 24 inches by 12 inches.

How much would a bar of say 8 inches by 2 inches by 1/8 inches cost for this type of damascus

i thought id post a couple if progress pix of a blade im working on at the moment.i got the idea from this post .im going to etch the blade very deeply at the end and hopefully the edge will end up very toothy or even serrated. as i was splitting the bilet today the angle grinder leaped out of my hand and gave me a beauty gouge in my finger so i had to go and get it sewn up so the finished product wont be compleated for a while.
let me know what you think.(of the billet not my finger)
