What are you grinding, carbide?

That would be really expensive.

I've got 5 Kyocera ceramic kitchen knives. After two years of daily use, they need a resharpen. I could send em out, but there's a philosophical connundrum in that for me.

I may just get a diamond stone, but the belt had a certain appeal.

Several different grits and types and the pictures look like they have a 2 x 72.

Should be able to contact them for a dealer.

the easiest way would be to buy a carat of whatever mesh diamond abrasive and add it to your most wore out belt. or you could reverse the belt and use the inside as a vehicle for the diamond. cost ....about $ 6.00 if you have a lapidary supply store locally.

Fitz, Kit Carson is using them. They are very pricy, and must be used wet.

Shakudo,

Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about alternatives to the hi-priced belts, and was wondering if I couldn't just get some paste from someone like RioGrande and load up a leather belt.

Don,

Thank you, sir! I'll drop Kit a line and ask where he gets em at.

Hey, Jeff,

Yeah, doing mostly ok. Worked ourselves silly for 6 weeks doing a big kitchen remodel, then got wore out at the end. That led to catching a viral infection (I get sick easy as I'm on immunosuppressant drugs) that kicked my butt for a month. Thus, I haven't been around much.

However, that said, I'm about as good as I get right now, and am looking forward to some playtime making some knives and some damascus. I figure, heck, if the room needs painting today, it'll still be there tomorrow, neh?

Hope all is well with you. Thanks for asking...

Hi, Rob,

When I finish, IF it doesn't belong hidden under the bed in the dark, I will surely share a foto, bro! That's a big IF!

I don't know what it is anymore, but this seems to be a lot harder than it once was!!
