1st forged knife

This is the first forged blade I tried. Did this at Trackrock hammerin this past weekend.
Thanks to Carl Rx and Mark (Gouge), Rob Frink, and the master himself, Sandy, for making this one heck of a weekend. I had a blast. Can't wait to pound some more steel.....jc

Pretty nice first piece. Yessir! Not bad at all. Good looking lines, and I like the twist in the handle. Keep up the good work.

Sorry I couldn't make it, but it's a 6-8 hr drive for me, my '79 F100 drinks gas like it's going out of style, and, you know...the cash flow thing. I was with y'all in spirit, though. Glad it was a good time.

Looks even better in print John. I really enjoyed meeting You and hope I get back down were I belong before too long. Keep up on the forging. You may want to do some looking at metal scrapyards to find a good makeshift anvil. The 162lb piece of steel that Carl uses was only $23 at my local metal honey hole.
If you make up a bunch for the wedding make sure you post them.

Yeah, got him bit real good! He'll never be the same...plum ruint!
Had a lot of fun walking you through it John. You're a good student and got a lot of want-to to use up. Little more time at the anvil and you'll be working that "new" cross-peen like a pro.
Always a pleasure. Wish you could have stayed through Sunday. We actually got Wayne to tie his hair back and get down to business. We'll get it together soon.
