18th c. militia knife & sheath
Here's an outfit I recently finished. The knife was inspired by an excavated blade near Ft. Ticoneroga. The sheath was inspired by a pic of an original from the 18th c. The knife blade was ground from 01, and is 9 1/2". Steel guard and butt cap, octagonal curly maple grip, through tang peened over butt cap. Weighs in at 7 1/2 oz. The sheath is vege tanned 7 oz leather, and the checkering and borders are cut, rather than creased in. Both are aged to reflect use. Thankyou for looking, and comments are welcome.

Well, they didn't have O-1 in the 18th C., but otherwise it's a fine knife. I love the flow of it, and the handle is beautiful.
