It looks like a practical design to me. I like the forward location of the lanyard attachment. I always have liked the blade design, when it was done wide enough to have a useful cutting edge.

Very cool Andy! Nice grind lines and I like the 550 cord lanyard. Is the attachment in the guard and the hole in the back so you can put your hand on the knife and tighten the lanyard around your hand or is there some other purpose for it?

That was the intended purpose.I saw it done on an old WWII fighter made by Floyd Nichols.I adapted it a little.By the way the blade is 1.25"wide and 3/16 thick.Top edge is sharpened.

How did I miss this?
That's cool Andy! I love the lanyard arangement! Ya know, it's hard to get the lines on a straight knife to look this good while still remaining simple and 'militaresque'! Great job brother! A custom bayonette is still on my long-range radar. I can get old donor M-8s from a local surplus store--you just reminded me to do that! If I could get past all the other spring projects on my 'honey do' list, I could go make a knife! I hope I haven't forgotten how! __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |
