Anyone intersted in helping someone gettting started?

ok, so ive been to this website alot but havent registered until tonight. i am moving to san antonio in the next couple of weeks from st louis missouri. there are not alot of knife makers up here so i havent been able to get any experience of seeing someone forge a knife. what i have been doing and you guys might think this is a joke, is buying the knife kits and doing alot of file work, backspines and stuff like that ( see attached picture..DDR3 button lock backspine). i am in the process of getting information about the blade smith classes at texarkana?! and plan to attend.....what i was wondering is if there is anyone that would know anything else i could do to get any experience and hands ON time with anything dealing with the knifemaking process. i am extremely interested in this and my family supports me 100 %. i want to make a living out of this at some point so i would like some guidance from people that know what their doing. thank you for youre time.

Knet School of Knifemaking

Derek, we have a knifemaking school right here.

I'm 300 miles south of you in Brownsville and I teach knifemaking in my shop on Fridays and Saturdays.

Call Johnny Stout in New Braunfels.

Lots of options for you.
