On any given forging project I will use 3-5 hammers. I have posted pics of the ones I have made.

I have a gallery of them here:

Braggart!

*laughs*
I've just got a few I use, few belonging to my dad. One that was given to me the most lately, it's a small sledge style. Had been using a lighter cross pein mainly, and use both primarily. Got a 4 lb sledge for christmas integral handle. Then planning to attempt making a few of my own. Not sure how great they'll look,. but as long as they move metal, that's what matters.

Don, I'll have to take a photo of my old 250# LG. It purrs like a kitten, but if you need the extra bang (which I never do) it's there.

Finding old hammers and restoring them has been sort of a hobby for me. I'm hoping to locate a 500 #'er one of these days. I do some trading and haggeling for these old things. I also am interested in blacksmith work, so they come in handy for that. The one I use most for my blade work is my 100 #'er, and my Tom Clark Say-ya air hammer (no picture found yet). My bladework does not justify all of the old hammers, I just like piddling with the things. I've had several 25's and 50's in the past, but traded them off and regretted it latter, so these I'll try to hang onto. The green paint? Well, what can I say
First one is my 250. My wife Carrie made me hold the cat. The hammer will be about 14" taller once it's on it's base. It came with 2 full sets of dies, they're HUGE! The next picture is of my 25 and 50 #'er's (all are Little Giant). I can shut a matchbox with the 25, it's really a nice machine, it's been well maintained (read: lubricated) throughout it's life.
Same with the 50, nice control. The last shot shows my 100 #'er. It has a different clutch then Don's as it's older. That hammer will fire up and just wait for orders to strike! It probably has the most control of any of them. I used Dave Manzer's videos to help with tuning them up and that made all the differience in the world.

Don I'd love to! However, it looks like you make money with yours, and I just lose money with mine.
