Hard to tell from the straight on shot, but going by the blade geometry that can be seen, the cutting edge is eventually going to find it's way out the front side of the sheath with any serious repetitive use.
Is there any kind of welt/spacer between the sheath panels? __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

In most instances molding of the sheath around the blade would be an indication of the lack of a welt. This does make for an attractive sheath but one that is subject to self destruction if housing a sharp blade. A welt in the sheath is perhaps one of the most vital parts of its construction. Although I do not favor sharp molding, that shown here is precise. For first or early attempts at sheath making, I would give you high grades----let us see more!----Sandy
