hollow grind
Can someone give me a detailed response regarding how to put a hollow grind on a blade? Or direct me as to where I can find this info elsewhere. Thanks

Just a few posts down the page Jamey Saunders posted a pdf called "How to Build a Knife" by Jim Small. He talks about hollow grinding your blades in there. Simply put it's just using the round part of your belt grinder or disc grinder to remove the stock. If you've ever noticed a blade that didn't seem completely flat... like there was an upward sweeping ramp from the blade to the spine, then you're familiar with a hollow grind.
Here's the link to the post: http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=27227 __________________ Cap Hayes See my knives @ knives.caphayes.com This quote pains me: -- "Strategically placed blood grooves control blood spray in covert deanimation activities." -- |
