Knife ID needed
This is supposed to be a WWII fighting knife but not real sure. Any ideas on what it might be? The guard and butt looks to be copper. Blade is 9" long but part of tip is missing. Overall length is 14". Any help would be appreciated.

Just one of the many thousands of home-built, shop-built, school-built, wartime-built blades of the last 100 years. What does the inscription on the sheath read?
