Left handed DDR?

Do any of the DDR's come as a left hander? Could a standard kit be converted easily enough? Just curious.

Thanks.

I was just about to reply to the other post about this.

I may be wrong (& probably am) but, it seems to me that the two main probs are the linerlock & blade (go figure) The liner may be changeable, but the indent ball might cause a problem & some of the holes that are countersunk, but the blade has a bevel to catch the liner & that would be a problem in itself, of course, the best solution would be to beat Kit Knives up until they bought out an option, but, even if it proved cost effective for them to do so, they probably would only do it for one or two kits, not the full range (I'm just guessing, of course)

Soooo that leaves, remanufacturizing(a new word) one or two kits into a lefty (may mean a new blade, but hey, everyone wants a damascus DDR, don't they? )

Hope that's been some help, even if it's all completely wrong, it'll prompt a correct reply

Colin nailed it. If I wanted to, I could figure out how to convert the liners.

'Converting' the blade would have one major obstacle: The locking ramp.

If the existing lock's liner only catches the edge, then if you turned it over and ground the blade to match, I guess there *might* be just enough material left to catch this much again. Just don't expect to pass the 'spine whack' test with high points.

Also the detent hole would need drilling, too.

Sounds like quite a challenge. Hmmmmmm....

I'm sitting here looking at making a lefty out of the GPC1000 I got for Christmas. I've used liner locks as a lefty for years, and find that as long as the thumb stud, disk, or hole is accessible to my left thumb, I'm fine. No problem operating the lock when it's set up for a righty. So I figured on just filing out an opening in the left bolster - and in the spring - and installing the stud on the other side. Just debating if that would remove too much material from the spring...

On the GPC the detent ball is safely out of the way of where the thumb notch would need to be...is it in the way in the DDR?
