Screws and pivots
Just wondering if anyone can come up with a recomended list of screw and pivot sizes and any other folder parts I should get. Kind of like a starters kit. I know this is kind of the lazy way but if I try to guess what I would need I will probably get stuff I won't use. When I looked up screws and pivots there were so many different options that I can't picture the sizes. I'm a die maker and I'm use to larger screws. I know this is kind of a vague question but I want to start making some folders and I usually work best when I just jump into things. Lol. Thanks.

I use a few 1/8" pins with 2-56 threads and mostly 3/16" pins with 4-40 threads.
The pivot pins I use are straight, tapped all the way thru. I believe the pins and screws are available from KnifeKits.com. I use button head screws for almost everything, once in awhile flat head screws if they are hidden. Get 3/8" long screws. Lots of them! |

Thanks Don. Sorry I didn't get back sooner. I've been busy and the little bit of spare time I had I've beel looking at screw options. Your info is making it much easier for me. I may even place an order in the next couple days but it will probably be a while before I get the time to start on my first folder.
