Kevin-

Yeh...this blade is a toughie...and you'll understand when it's finished, why my design (and the carved embellishments) made it all the more difficult.

This is my 2nd folder blade. The first one I made was for the DDR2 folder with the carved nude on the backspine, which I lost at the emergency room just prior to final completion.

This Typhoon kit would have been finished long ago if I'd simply gone with the blade that came with the kit. After I started working on this blade I sorta got bogged down with all the various difficulties...so I took a break and made the DDR3 (with the giraffe scales and carved scrolls on the side).

I'm back on this one now...in a big way... and determined to get this "Rock 'n Roll" Typhoon completed, with my own damascus blade...and then I intend on moving into sole authorship.

Dennis,

I learned a lot from everything going on. I figure the more I learn the better I get. As for the run out on my mill, I got it down to .001. I have a toolmaker friend that helps me out from time to time. I just like everything to be perfect. I think I drive myself crazy sometimes.

I did get everything completed this weekend on my folder. The blade and lock bar are off to heat treat. After being off for a few months the fire is burning. Hope to see that knife when your finished. Good luck

Bob Cannon
