VFD vs ...whatever this is

Hi - brand new to the forum.

I have a 50 x 2000 homemade grinder running a single phase 3hp motor. It goes VERY fast and I would like to add variable speed control. I have looked at VFDs and would be happy enough to buy one. But I spotted this while looking for a VFD - will it work? I am in the UK if that makes any difference... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4000W-AC-2...r/222224336805

No.... that will not work. It will burn out your motor. That device is for LIGHT duty fan motors only.
