Chainsaw and Redwood Burl

Presenting, my latest. Forged from Chainsaw chain, mounted to Redwood Burl, and my "carbonated bronze" guard.

Edge is 3.25", overall is 8.25".

Wow!

Nice work! I've tried Redwood Burl several times and it just hasn't worked for me. Always cracks. Any hints?

Good looking knife!! I really liked the "carb0nated bronze" guard. Can you elaborate on how you make it?

Thanks

I took a crucible of bronze, heated it to molten, and then slowly stirred in a cup or so of BB's. Kept the heat up so it would finish offgassing, then let it slowly cool. Saw out the pieces you want, and proceed as normal.

Thanks for looking!

This stuff is stabilized, professionally, before I buy it. That may be the key. Good luck.
