Bragging Rights
I am one of those people that tries to help others and not let my head swell if there is something I know, or can do that others cannot or have not done. However, sometimes something happens that just screams at you to BRAG about it. My son Kevin has had an article written about him in the Texas Knifemakers and Collectors Association newsletter. To me, that justifies a little BRAGGING. So feel free to go here Kevin's TKCA article and see the article. Big Grin! Big Grin! Big Grin! Big Grin! |

Man, that's great! Heck, Bob, that ain't bragging. That's just showing pride in your son's accomplishments. Be sure to tell Kevin we're all real proud of him too. Kevin, if you happen to drop in here, way to go man! Terry's Website |

Bob- I've only recently started making several of Darrel Ralph's knife kits, so I'm a far cry from being a knifemaker like yourself. But I still find it something to take pride in. This past week my 12 year old daughter (my only child) asked if she could make a kit. We're nearly finished and I couldn't be more proud, and boy does she ever have a sense of accomplishment. I encourage every parent to get their kid to make something with their hands (with you involved, looking over their shoulder). You can't even list all the good things that come from this experience! Congrats to your son. He made a great-looking knife! Dennis PS. I showed my daughter the picture of your son (who's about her age) working at the forge and her eyes got real wide with amazement! |

There's a negative connotation to the word 'bragging' that needn't be. I don't care WHAT it is, it's a darn good press and a tribute to a great family. There are TWO good things in this story: Kevin's knife skills AND his writing! This came from him, and regardless of any editing, he is learning to express himself well and show his honesty. Great job!! Dennis--so cool to hear of your daughter's (and your) project!! We demand a pic of the knife and HER when you get it all finished. Tell her the men are proud of her already!! (Watch out Delana! ) Thanks Bob! Good goin', Kevin! Coop |

Well done, Kevin! And I can tell people I know you; we met at my table at the Spirit of Steel show last September. We're all proud of you, lad! |

Bob, you just brag away, you have the right! And Kevin, you just keep pounding that steel and writing about it Roger |
