Source for Pivot Cap Screws

Hi all,

I apologize in advance if this has been discussed here before. I searched the forum but was not able to find what I was looking for.

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could recommend a few good places to purchase pivot cap screws for folders? Specifically, I am looking for cap screws with Torx drives (T6 to T8) and that are threaded for a 2-56 pivot pin. At present, I've had good success with using the SK Alien Spanner pivot cap screws from Knife (These are nice, but I'd like to have some variety with my folders). I've looked at, Alpha Knife Supply, USAKnifemaker, Texas Knife Maker, and Sheffield's with limited success. I'm having a tough time finding something threaded in 2-56. I am also open to custom pivots if you know of anyone who makes them in this size.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

All the best,

Folder hardware in general is a pretty limited area. What most of us do is find what is available, and then adjust our folder designs to what's available. If you look directly at Steve Kelly's site ( that's about the most extensive selection of folder hardware available from a single source. Steve is producing folder hardware for many retail outlets.

Personally, the hardware that Steve offers has some much tighter tolerances then ANY of the import stuff, which makes it the only folder hardware I will use.

Thanks for that Ed. It's my first time hearing about them. They even sell titanium straws.
