I gotcha....flat for many many grinds....attatch platen with a ledge to act as a fail/slip safe.....would granite work? Just curious....not really sure why, it just flashed in my head. Made some adjustments to to cheapie.....henceforth she will be called......Ruth.........yep, Ruth the 1"x20" grinder........ Learning to work with Ruth, not against her....doing better. Time will tell. After Christmas, I will start on the larger, more efficient stepsister.......
Heat treated five cousin blades today. Pics coming soon....I have to get on the iPad....not sure how to post em from the phone......and the beat goes on...... |

I wouldn't think granite would be near as durable as pyroceram ....

Just a thought, it's smooth....anyway, pics are up from my heat treat evolution today......
