new years resolutions

Ok everyone - which balisongs (custom or production) are you resolved to buy in the new year?

For me, the spyderfly (should it ever come out) is probably the only production I'm going to get. And other than my own designs, I think there's a Davidson or two that are on the horizon, a sweet 29K and probably more. But those are the only ones I know about now. Heh.

Definately a Spyderfly (order is already placed).

And I'd really like a Dobruski, but I guess that just won't happen.

Yep, a spyderfly will be my next prurchase and probably a few typhoons since the one I got from Lanny flips so well.

First off, I hope my Dobie that I ordered about a year ago will come this year.
I'm certainly not rich, but I hope to acquire at least one more of Chris' knives and, when Charles starts making sandwiches (am I reading his hints right?), I want to be one of the first customers (I have one of his channels).
I also want to get Terry to make me something, I just don't know what yet.
Oh yeah, also a coupla Spyderflys (look like one-bladed scissors ), and whatever tasty scraps BM may throw at us.

Not 100% commited to this one, but I resolve to have my first collabration come out in 2004. It's been too long since I've had one of my designs fleshed out.

What is involved in a collaboration? Do you finance the entire run? Or does the maker or dealer sometimes share some of the expense?

I have an balisong idea that (I think) is VERY original. I have been trying to visualize how to make it but it seems like a puzzle. Part of it came to me in a dream? I can't come up with a solution myself, but maybe someone with more mechanical aptitude than me (and I have more than most people) can help me.

I'm not an expert, but I'll help if I can. Send me an e-mail with some designs/sketches.

Sounds cool, Tony. Does your cat in the bag have any kittens, as to who's this collabration with, knife specs and so on?

I have a Dobruski on order that may get done by the end of the year (still have to come up with a design, though). I also really want to pick up a Davidson--I spoke to Larry a little last month but haven't heard anything from him recently. Spyderfly is on order as well. There's so many great knives out there right now I am going to be donating my paychecks for the year, I think. I would like to eventually pick up a bali from each of the current makers. That is, Ralph, Olofson, Guinn, Ikoma, Korth, Hinderer, Davidson, etc. I may also have to check out Marlowe's new IKBS balis to give my #004 a new sibling. *sigh* So many balis, so little time...
