typhoon plans?

Hey - so I was thinking about my typhoon and what I wanted to do with it. Thought I'd see what everyone else has planned for their kits! I've got a couple coming in, but no tools other than hand files and a dremel that I am profoundly not proficient with, so I"m not quite sure what I'll be doing. What're you going to do and with what tools? What sort of experience do you have making kit knives?

I think, I'll probably experiement on one kit - that'll give me 4 handles to play with and then once I think I've got something that I like I'll do that on my second. Probably that'll amount to filework of some sort. Maybe trying to do a little carving/fluting of the handles.

Finally! An easy question ..., I'm calling Darrel when I get mine....lol.

Seriously.., I'm not sure what I want to try out.., and I don't have much time to do it..., but I do want to take a stab and customizing a few just for me..., that will be fun and therapeutic!

All I know is my tools-to-buy budget is now potentially higher than my knives-to-buy budget....

Lots of ideas swimming in my head. Need a creative release.....

I might try some file/dremel work, polishing, and maybe some petrified spam inserts.

Or make your poor. Which ever comes first....

Until the Typhoon, I was happy with my limited shop tools. Now I'm seriously thinking about buying a verticle milling machine......

Tony, some good deals here. I haven't bought from them, but have paged through their catalogs at work.

I've been warned about their build quality. Plus I wanted to go up to the next size. The one I'm looking at is the Prazi BF450.. Took a look at the Sherline's and it may be just a tad too small.

Nice looking mills. Definitely will put a dent in your bank account.

Wish I was back in high school, would have liked to spend some after school time in my metal shop class.

Since I'm only getting one to start, it's stayong bone stock. I might play around with it if I get another one, but that might not happen until I can afford one with handles that are milled for inserts. I'm jonesing for CF inserts, and my next Typhoon will have a set.
BTW, again.
