New Knife, first one be gentle
5160 leaf spring. Hammer forged to shape in gas forge and then finish ground. Guard and pommel made by me out of 5160. handle is wenge and black micarta. Blade was tempered in oven and then spine was drawn back with a torch.
I used a book by Jim Hirisoulas, and a video by tim lively for instruction. I bought a grizzly knife grinder to aid in finish sanding and shaping. Last edited by Dogvet99; 12-27-2007 at 02:24 PM. |

You will have better luck posting in the Display or Newbies forum, Community does not get much traffic.

It's hard to see the knife in some of the photos, but what I do see looks good! A knife that size is ambitious for a first blade.
