Pins for 416 SS bolsters

I've been having success with nickle silver(ns) bolsters pinned with ns rod. But the ns seems to scratch easily. So I'd like to try some 416ss for my bolsters. Do I use 416 rod for pins? Is it peened in the same way as the ns? Or can I stay with the ns rod?
Thanks

Yep, yep, and nope. 416ss pins will virtually disappear in 416ss bolsters, but NS pins will show, because there's a slight yellow tint to them.

It is my understanding that to get the pin to "disappear" into the bolster you should use the same pin and bolster material.

I found 416 required a little more of a tap to peen than N/S
