D-2 steel
The blade on my CUDA MAXX 5.5 is becoming discolored in one spot. The blade is made of D-2 steel. The knife if new. Any suggestions how to remove the blimish on the blade.
Silver polish removed the grey color, but left a milky white spot. |

D2
D2 steel is a "tool steel" and not quite in the stainless catagory. I don't know how to tell you to remove the blemish but to ward off any further blemishing or patina, I have been using Renaissance Wax. This stuff is used in museums to keep stuff from corroding. You can use it on the steel and on leather and just about anything that you can wipe on.
I have a Cuda Maxx 5.5 also and it shines like a new nickle. I also have the Aftermath and it also gets frequent coats of Ren. Wax. Ciao Ron |
