I've had trouble trying to open the site, as well. Glad it isn't just me! - Jim

alex, perhaps if you sit real quiet in a dark room and then suddenly turn the light on you might be able to catch it un aware.

It sure is slow to open and very erratic with "server too busy" post way often. Hope you get a handle on it soon as it is frustrating having to open and close so much.

Have a good one!

It's more often than not for me, Alex. It may last only a few minutes, or it may last a couple of hours. Either the site won't open at all, or I get to the site and get the "server too busy" message.
Here's the most recent: The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.
All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:39 AM.

- Jim

After posting this I tried to get into the sheath making forum and again got the "server too busy" message, with the time noted as 11:50 AM.

Update -

We're still looking into the issue. It appears to be related to a recent mysql upgrade on this server. It may be necessary to disable the forums while we address the issue, if this version of vb is conflicting with the new features in mysql.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Alex

Hey ... where did you all go????

Besides ...

If I fix it too quickly, someone will accuse me of creating my own opportunities to be a hero.

I changed some of the forum read-marking settings. The way those are handled have changed since the last vb update. How is it performing today?

Alex

PS ... please post the number of people on the board when you post your performance memo.

Thanks

20 active members and all seems well, Alex. I haven't had any problems since you required us to login (and I mentioned that in the other thread). - Jim

Speed is much better....but now I have a new issue.

Every time I check into the forum to see if there's anything new, the box next to nearly every forum is lit as if to inform me there's new content. It started last night around midnight. I hadn't changed a thing...simply my usual night of checking back in on a regular basis and then suddenly nearly everything was lit up...and it has stayed that way no matter how many times I read what's posted in any given forum.
