Plunge cuts and guards
Well yesterday was a good day for me. A friend of mine decided that the die filer in his storage building needed to be put to use. He asked me if a die filer was anything that I could use, and he was pleased to find out that I have been looking for one.
He has had this die filer for about 20 years and has never even turned it on.When he found out I was looking for one, he offered it to me for nothing. It had a broken 5/16" round drive belt...and I had to go into my junkpile and find two pully sheaves to change it over to v-belt drive. A new belt and about thirty minutes of work and she's good to go...all for the price of a new v-belt...$6.00. It works great and I can use quite a variety of files with it, but mostly I'll be doing plunge cuts and guard slots with it. What a deal!! |
