Heat Gun
If you were to buy a Heat gun to solder guards on , what heat range and watt would you buy???

I just bought a snap-on. Most silver bearing solder melts at about 650 F. I also have a cheap one I got at HF. It seems to work fine.

Thanks Andy, You use silver bearing solder?? I was looking at something that melts at around 450?.

Get your solder from Pop's.
I've been told that any cheap heat gun will work for soldering guards.

I haven't soldered a guard on in years , just been making full tangs. So a heat gun will be all new to me.

Art the way your fit and finish is you can get buy with JB Weld. I use it alot. Matches well with wrought Iron.

JB Weld is great for attaching guards. You just need to be more precise with your fit.
