Old Italian Knife with German sheath
Any help identifying this would be greatly appreciated. It was found in the rafters of an old barn in WI. 8 inch blade. 3/16 thick 13 inches overall. The sheath is stamped Germany. Carbon steel blade.
Does it say Bowie or Bomie? this says G.C. CO ITALY |

Interesting knife and sheath! Looks like something Tai Goo would come up with.

Finally got around to re-finishing this old knife and making a new sheath.
It came apart pretty easy. I did a little metal repair to the aluminum. |

Very nice repair job. Reminds me of a Prussian Folding fighter that I restored for a customer a few years ago, looked really bad coming ioto the shop and Really Nice going out of the shop.

It is marked Bowie. I have a German knife marked that way but mine reads Original Bowie Knife. The makers mark says E. C. Solingen Germany. The sheath for it appears to be like the one you have , it has the same stag and is marked Made In Germany on the belt loop.
