mini 605 kit?
Hello,
did the mini 605 kit change names or something? I was looking for one and didn't find anything. ed __________________ Gold is for the mistress - silver for the maid Copper for the craftsman cunning in his trade. Same here, I think they replaced it with the DDR2 Modern Bowie, near as I can figure out, from what I've read here. Comes with a Tanto tip too. Looks good. http://knifekits.com/store/s-pages/k...main.htm~smain Speaking of looking good! Just got 3 Maverik kits. Man these are BIG. I like em. And I like it that the tang is already tapered, one job I don't have to do. Gonna put sheep horn on one first, as soon as I stabilize it. Charlie |

From what I can see from the online pics, the placement of the lock notch is slightly different. They may not fit.
I thought they were satin finish like the ddr3's, but it appears they stuck with the bead blast. Bummer. My 2Cents Mike Last edited by mike6640; 11-05-2006 at 03:36 PM. |

ya im bummed about the matte finish too. its alot of work to take it off and put on a satin finish, but on the other hand if you need a knife to take abuse then that bead blasting is pretty tough.

that's ok. I am getting a damascus blade for the 605 soon why I was asking all these questions. I suspect it will fit in but may have to do some small changes here and there.

OK! I just got word that the mini 605 is the same as the ddr2, unless my source is incorrect then it should work! Perhaps I should call knifekits and ask them.

Let me unscramble the mystery.
The 650 and the DDR1 are the same knife. I #######d the DDRI and DDRII to Koval many years ago. Judy renamed them for her company the 605 and the 605 mini. They are both my designs. What you see at Knifekits.com is the real deal. The 605 is the DDRI. The 605 Mini is the DDRII Watch out for knock offs. I hope this helps. |
