Number of posts per page...

Alex,

I have set in my profile to see 40 posts per page, yet I only see ten. It's not terribly important, but I like to see as many posts as possible without having to click to another page. (If I could set it to 100, I would.) This is on the results of a search, which is really the only way I access the forums.

If this is a system-wide change, and the option in the profile won't work anymore, that's fine. I just wasn't sure you knew about it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, and that Shane's the oddball...

I see forty posts on a thread, as set. What I only get ten of is when I do a 'search new posts'. I used to get about 15, but just lately the default changed down to 10. I looked and cannot see where I can alter the search results listings.

Is this what you were referring to, Jamie?

Yep, that's it. A search of new posts only gives me ten per page, and i used to get 25.

That's the only way I access the forums. I have a shortcut on my browser's toolbar that points to the "New Posts" URL. I never (unless I'm starting a new thread) go to the main forum index page.

If I have to live with it, I will. Like I said, it's not a big deal, just a couple more clicks in my day.

Hi Guys,

It is related to the search results display setting. We trimmed it down to 10/page to continue to look for ways to improve the server performance. The standard post display count from thread view wasn't changed, only the search retrieval thread display count on the db. You still have the full number of threads, but spread out to more pages.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Alex

Eh, I can live with it. Just wondering. I didn't realize that the number of posts per page option in the profile didn't carry over to searches.

No worries!
